Olango Island

I am so into shotgun trips. I started the year with a trip in Olango Island. Me and Master in crime Lemuel , a fellow Phoneographer of mine, went for a photowalk but then decided to visit the bird sanctuary of Olango.

I thought it was really an unfurtunate trip for us cause we arrive at Olango beginning of dusk and we are expecting pa naman to catch the sunset  :( . Without any extra shirt and dont know were to go to and internet is not really that good, we got frustrated!! and but then we started this trip, we don't have a choice but to walk around with a starving tummy, hahaha!

Then I have realized when traveling it really takes a gut to ask questions and directions.

And luckily, Manong Kuya, a habal-habal driver suggested Sha La La Beach Resort for us to spent the night. I told Manong Kuya to suggest a place that has at least one of the best of view at Olango.

And when we arrived at the resort I got dissappointed because I can't see the vast waterscape of the island but instead just an array of mangroves!! Don't get me wrong guys its not just Mangroves is not good but I am expecting more.. You know what I mean , Hahahaha!! We decided to take an early rest since maybe we just got tired by the trip.

I set my phone to the highest possible volume of alarm for me to be able to witness the remarkable sunrise.

Morning came and this, I saw ...

I got breathless !!! just how magnificent the view is .. I told myself , truly Manong Kuya suggested the perfect resort! The trail of mangroves are perfect ...

After taking a couple of pics, we have found out that theirs more beyond that mangrove trail.. and we didn't expect what we have seen!

I don't know how to describe the place cause to be honest its my first time and it just so perfect and I promise it would take your breath a way!

and for a couple of Info guys,

Olango Island is found in the Central Visayas Region and is part of Cebu Province. Olango Island is under the jurisdiction of Lapu-Lapu. It is located east of Mactan Island and is a major tourist destination in Cebu. And is well known for its wildlife sanctuary.

Occupations in Olango residents are fishing and coastal related activities.

Olango Island is one of the best known flyaways for migrating birds. These birds flock to the island seeking refuge from the cold climate of other countries. *

For best view of these birds, it is best to visit the island around July to November in time for winter in the Northern Hemisphere. *

How to :

Commuting is very easy.

From Cebu City a ride of jeepney ( 01K ) to Parkmall and from there you have ride a jeep going to Mactan Newtown and it'll just cause you at least 25 pesos.

and from Mactan Newtown you can ride a tricycle or habal-habal for 10 pesos going to the port to Olango Island. Tickets for the trip going to Olango is at least not more than 20 pesos. Earliest trip would be around 5am in the morning and last trip is 7pm.

Upon arrival in Olango Island, tricycle and habal-habal is not a worry. Tricycle will cost you 120 pesos and that is good for 4 heads. Habal-Habal is only 25 pesos per head.

Drivers know the island very well , if you don't have any idea about where to stay, they can very well suggest from the most expensive to the cheapest stay ins and resorts in the island.

The best moments are the unplanned ones that just happen but make your day perfect! Special thanks to my shotgun trip, photowalk and laag buddy, Lemuel Mendez for the awesome pics in Olango Island!

Hoping I have inspired you all to visit Olango Island, this blog is just a glimpse of the Islands beauty.
There is more to discover.

Have a happy trip to all!

TEMPLE OF LEAH

Because of his undying love to his wife  Mr. Teodorico Adarna  built a temple as a symbol of his devotion and everlasting love to , Leah , his wife.        The construction of Temple of Leah started in 2012 , the estate is still undergoing development.   Temple of Leah gives a great view of Metro Cebu – overlooking the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-lapu.    The view and the ancient feel and vibes ala Roman times of Temple of Leah are one of the mainly reasons why tourists drop by the attraction. The easiest way of transpo going to Temple of Leah , maybe ( hahaha cause daghan kaayu sila nagtapok ddtu sa may JY )A rideof  habal-habal from JY Square. Be sure that you and the driver have come to an agreement on how much the fare is before hopping on for the trip.    Temple of Leah management charges 50PhP entrance fee per guest, and is open 6 AM to 11 PM. True love is not a strong, fiery, impetuous passion.
